The design of the synthetic peptide to be used in a polyclonal antibody project is of course crucial for a successful outcome - and there are a lot of factors to consider. Finding out which regions or domains of the protein to target in the first place is a good starting point. Then there are considerations such as predicted peptide solubility, antigenicity, surface exposure, conjugation strategy, and homologies. Which parameters to include and their importance may depend on the project details.

Innovagen offers to aid you in choosing a sequence suitable for your antibody project. In our peptide design service we use our proprietary Peptide CAD™ software, although the selection is done by our experienced staff. Supply us with the protein sequence, which the antibodies should recognise, and we will return up to three suggestions for suitable peptide sequences. This service is included free of charge with our anti-peptide antibody projects.
